Did you know that Edwin McLean is an excellent piano teacher? He is appreciated by many who take lessons from him. He teaches from his house in Chapel Hill, which makes it very convenient to those in Carrboro, Chapel Hill and Durham.
Edwin’s Bachelor of Music was in Piano Performance. He teaches the classical literature to intermediate and advanced students. He also likes teaching beginners who are six years or older. Having spent 16 years as a professional arranger, he encourages his students—especially teenagers—to explore different types of music, such as jazz and improvisation. His mission as a piano teacher is to match each student’s individual interests with music that will motivate and inspire them.
Edwin and his wife Elise live in the Fairoaks neighborhood of Carrboro. The at-home studio features a lovely Boston 7-foot grand piano, as well as a digital music station and electronic drums.
Edwin has only a few openings available for the fall semester, so now is the time to schedule a free, informal meeting and to secure the best after-school times for your student (beginner-advanced).
